The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with heavy machinery and be familiar with the operation of plant equipment. If you have a Certificate III in Plant Operations or a related field, please highlight this in your application. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a team player, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operating and maintaining plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Conducting routine maintenance tasks and reporting any issues to the supervisor
- Assisting with the setup and operation of plant equipment for projects
- Collaborating with other laborers to ensure a smooth workflow
- Participating in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with industry best practices
- Contributing to the development and implementation of safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Assisting in the training and evaluation of new laborers to ensure a smooth transition into the role
- Participating in the maintenance and upkeep of the laborer’s workshop and equipment to ensure it is in good working order
- Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of plant equipment operations and maintenance procedures to stay up-to-date with industry developments
- Identifying and reporting any equipment malfunctions or potential safety hazards to the supervisor to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborating with the team to develop and implement strategies to improve workflow and productivity, and to identify areas for improvement
- Participating in regular performance reviews to set goals and objectives, and to identify areas for improvement
Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to:
- Participate in the development and implementation of new projects and initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth workflow and to achieve business objectives
- Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new laborers to ensure a smooth transition into the role
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of industry best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
- Identify and report any areas for improvement in the workplace to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
Requirements:
- Valid forklift license
- Experience working with heavy machinery
- Ability to lift 25 kg
- Good communication skills, including verbal and written communication
- Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a positive and safe work culture
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in daily tasks
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and interact with people from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a laborer or plant operator role
- Knowledge of plant equipment and operations
